While the Mermaids and Dolphinswere at the foundry, I was commissioned by the Mirage to create a thoroughbred finial cap for the sport bar railing. The challenge was to design something that would work from a 4-inch diameter post, to avoid any sharp or dangerous protrusions, to incorporate the lush "Mirage" feel of fantasy, and still look like a thoroughbred race horse. The Mirage has 28 of these in polished brass. The piece shown here is cast in bronze. I also offer this design as a resin-cast in bonded bronze.
